ZARIBEE Kenya Joins WASSHA Group to Strengthen Long-Term Mobility Finance Operations
Building on locally grounded operations while preparing for the next phase of growth
Nairobi, Kenya – January 2026
ZARIBEE Kenya today announced that the company has become part of the WASSHA Group, following the completion of WASSHA Inc.’s acquisition of ZARIBEE Inc. on January 1, 2026.
ZARIBEE’s day-to-day business activities will continue to be carried out through its Kenyan operating company, working closely with riders and partners across the country. The integration provides a stronger organizational foundation, allowing the company to expand its business while maintaining continuity on the ground.
Since its establishment in Kenya, ZARIBEE has focused on enabling income generation for motorcycle taxi riders by improving access to productive mobility assets through a Rent-to-Own model. By combining structured payment plans with close, on-the-ground engagement, the company has supported riders in building more stable livelihoods and progressing toward motorcycle ownership.
To date, ZARIBEE has delivered more than 5,000 motorcycles in Kenya and supported over 2,000 riders in acquiring ownership of the motorcycles. These riders often support extended families, meaning the impact of the business reaches far beyond individual customers and into local communities.
Motorcycle taxis play a vital role in Kenya’s transportation and local economy, yet many riders face high upfront costs and limited access to appropriate financial services. ZARIBEE’s operations are designed around responsible credit assessment, continuous communication, and operational monitoring, with the aim of supporting sustainable income generation rather than short-term lending.
Through joining the WASSHA Group, ZARIBEE gains access to an operational platform built through more than a decade of experience in infrastructure and service delivery across multiple African countries. This foundation supports the next stage of ZARIBEE’s development, including the expansion of financed motorcycle units and the exploration of additional services related to mobility and income generation.
“Our focus remains on building a business that riders can rely on over the long term,” said Renji Morita, CEO of ZARIBEE. “By strengthening our organizational base, we are better positioned to scale our operations responsibly while staying close to the realities of our customers.”
Looking ahead, ZARIBEE will continue to invest in its people, systems, and on-the-ground operations in Kenya, while preparing carefully for potential expansion into other markets where access to income-generating mobility assets remains limited.
